The Short Version

Mochi Pet is designed from the ground up to protect your privacy. The AI runs entirely on your device. We don't collect your data, we don't have servers that store your information, and we don't sell anything about you to anyone. Your conversations with your Mochi stay between you and your Mochi.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Your conversations with your Mochi
  • Your pet's name, personality, or state
  • Your location
  • Your contacts
  • Your photos or media
  • Analytics or usage tracking data
  • Device identifiers for advertising

How the AI Works

Mochi Pet uses an on-device language model that runs entirely on your iPhone's Neural Engine. No data is sent to external servers for AI processing. The model, your pet's data, conversation history, and personality state all remain on your device.

Data That Stays on Your Device

All of the following data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and optionally synced via your personal iCloud account (which we cannot access):

  • Your pet's name, stats, and personality traits
  • Conversation history
  • Inventory and purchased cosmetic items
  • Interaction logs

If you enable iCloud sync, this data syncs across your own devices through Apple's iCloud infrastructure. We have no access to your iCloud data.

In-App Purchases

Mochi Pet offers optional in-app purchases through Apple's App Store. These transactions are processed entirely by Apple. We receive anonymized transaction confirmations but never see your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details.

Third-Party Services

Mochi Pet does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external service interaction is with Apple's StoreKit for processing in-app purchases, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

Mochi Pet does not collect personal information from any users, including children. The app is suitable for all ages. Since all data processing happens on-device with no data transmission to external servers, there is no collection of children's personal information under COPPA or similar regulations.

Data Deletion

Since all your data is stored on your device, you have complete control over it. To delete all Mochi Pet data:

  • Delete the app from your device (this removes all local data)
  • If you use iCloud sync, you can also remove the data from Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Since we don't collect your email or contact info, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
